As part of research into Exam preparation. I have researched certain parts in the making and distribution of the film 'Monsters'.  

Target Audience
The BBFC give this film a age rating of 12a, the target audience for this film is anything from 12+ or if under 12 they must be accompanied by an adult. This is a film that the who family can enjoy.

Although monsters is a British film it was not filmed in Brittan. It was filmed in Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico and Texas (USA).
Monsters premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival on 13th march 2010 in the U.S.A. Monsters had its UK premiere on 18th June 2010. Monsters premiere in US theatres was on 29th October 2010 and 5th November in Canada.
The starting budget came in at just under £500,000
Marketing and Distribution (UK & Worldwide)
The weeks leading up to the release of the movie lots of campaigns and advertisements were posted on popular social networking sited like twitter and facebook. Popular cinemas like Vue Entertainment and Cineworld set up ‘Infection Zones’ which people could see exclusive contence and have the chance to win on-the-spot prizes.  ’Magnet Releasing’ was  in-charge of distributing the film in the US and ‘Vertigo Films’ was in-charge of it in the UK.
